Our Obligation to Quality and Environmental Protection
As a worldwide operating company, we are responsible towards our customers, suppliers, workforce and society. That is why we have introduced a management system which is based on the approved international standards ISO 9001:2000, ISO TS 16949:2002 and ISO 14001:2004. Our focus is on constantly improving and further developing this system.
On the one hand, we use certificates to document the requirements of our customers and, on the other hand, we seek certification ourselves, both specific to subjects and sectors. Among others, we have been awarded the automotive supplier certificate ISO/TS 16949, the railway supplier certificate IRIS (International Railway Industry Standard), the aviation certificate AS 9100, and we meet the OHSAS 18001 for industrial safety (Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series) and document our environmental orientation with EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme and environmental audit regulation) and ISO 14001 certificates (environmental management systems). The certification processes are used for the constant improvement of our systems.
Internal and external audits (system, process and product audits) are an important part of our quality and environmental processes. We do not regard audits as inconvenient obligations. We see them more as an effective part of our continuous improvement process, both in terms of quality and the environment. They help us to continuously improve and, in this way, also become more successful. We use them at our plants worldwide.
Key Performance Indicators
Process-orientated key performance indicators are part of our management system. We use them to control our productivity, our non-quality costs, our energy consumption and the amount of waste produced in order to make quality and environmental production transparent and cost-effective.
Environmental Key Performance Indicators
Our environmental key performance indicators indicate the development of our consumption of resources. Special environmental key performance indicators provide a precise overview of the development of our consumption of resources – ranging from energy and water consumption up to waste amounts and CO2 emissions. The key performance indicator are connected to annual goals in order to reduce energy and water consumption and waste production and increase the percentage of recyclable waste.
