Tips and tricks for power transmission components

Our free-of-charge “Watch and Work” video series is continuing to see its popularity increase episode by episode. “We show tricks and tips related to changing timing belts and chains and associated components for various engine models – by professionals for professionals,” declares trainer Stefan Meyer. In the tutorials he reveals how to change power transmission components correctly, points out typical errors when fitting and provides tips on how to avoid damaging the belt and the engine.

The video series provides clearly illustrated assistance – easy to understand, repeatable at any time, and always based on the requirements of the technicians in the workshops. The Renault Twingo, for instance, has different challenges than the Suzuki Baleno. “When changing the Twingo’s timing belt, the tensioning pulley is sometimes tensioned in the wrong direction. As a result, it tilts and seizes, meaning that the belt becomes hot when the engine runs,” declares Meyer. In the videos, the expert explains how to do it correctly.
