Conventional and Hydraulic Bushings

Anti Vibration Components for the Chassis

To ensure good isolation of structure-borne vibration, bushings must be designed with minimal spring stiffness. What is more, very resiliently tuned bearings require long spring travel distances or markedly progressive spring stops for high force peaks. To dampen wheel body frequencies, rubber bushings with a hydraulic damping mechanism are used nowadays.

The damping maximum of the hydraulic bushings are attuned to the wheel frequency. In terms of stiffness and damping, hydraulic bushings exhibit a marked frequency-dependency that leads to a dynamic hardening of stiffness above the wheel's natural frequency.
