Installing Rolling Lobe Air Spring without Metal Parts
Air Spring Systems for Commercial Vehicles
WARNING:
- Do not inflate unless properly secured in the suspension system of the vehicle or in some other appropriate structure.
- Pressure may not exceed 100 psi / 7 bar. Otherwise there is a danger of injury!
- Working temperature: -40°C to 70°C / -40°F to 158°F.
Removing the Old Air Spring:
- Jack up the vehicle securely as high as possible. Make sure it cannot fall off its support.
- Let the air out of the air spring system.
- Remove the old air spring.
- Please note that for conical rolling lobe air springs, the narrow end must be placed on the piston.

- Clean the bead seats on the clamping plate and spring piston. Check that the mounting hardware is free of burr and is not corroded (replace if necessary). Apply a soap solution or an approved fitting lubricant (not grease) to the bead seat of the piston.

- Compress the new air spring to a hand´s width, while pushing it in below the upper bead.

- Place the folded air spring between the piston and the clamping plate.

- Fix the lower bead to its seat on the piston and the upper bead to its seat on the clamping plate.

- Pressurize the air spring so that its beads fit precisely between the plate and piston. The beads should snap into place. Lower the vehicle and the air spring will automatically roll down the piston. The air spring is now fitted.
