Successful Mountain Bike Athlete Boosts Bicycle Drive Manufacturer Continental
Hanover, March 2016
- Responsible for further developing the Conti Drive System
- Many years of expertise from active cycling
Max Friedrich (38) is set to join the Continental team in Hofheim as their new product manager. He will be in charge of further developing the Conti Drive System (CDS), the belt drive for bicycles and pedelecs. The active cyclist has long-established roots in the two-wheel industry stretching back over 20 years. As the seven-times German champion in the mountain bike marathon event, he has personal experience with all the materials and has intimate knowledge of the specific requirements of the bicycle industry. He has been applying his expertise in product tests for a number of years and will use it to further develop prototypes.
After studying mechanical engineering at the Technical University of Darmstadt, Friedrich first joined the Continental Corporation back in 2008. He was most recently in charge of designing fuel delivery systems. In his new position, he acts as an important interface between suppliers, the sales team, and the Technical Service Center, and is responsible for driving forward the further development of the CDS product family.
"As a mechanical engineer and active cyclist, I will marry the requirements of users and manufacturers to further develop the Conti Drive System," says Friedrich. "The system is a source of huge potential in the growing bicycle market and in terms of mobility concepts."
