Hanover, July 2009Volkswagen trusts ContiTech technology for the sixth generation

The Golf GTI has been sold more than 1.7 million times since it debuted in 1976. Continental's rubber technology was on board already in the first design. In the sixth generation, a completely new 2-liter turbomotor with specially developed components from ContiTech make the compact car even sportier.

Very sporty: For the sixth generation of the Golf GTI, Volkswagen trusts ContiTech's rubber technology – just like all previous generations.

And what's more: the Vibration Control business unit supplies spring strut bearings, absorbers, steering gaiters and axle boots to ensure optimum roadholding quality and superb driving comfort in the GTI, with its 210 HP and its speed of 240 km/h. The proper gasoline supply is regulated by fuel management diaphragms provided by Elastomer Coatings. And inside the vehicle, TEPEO® foam laminates on the door facing and PVC film on the sun visors make for a sporty ambience. In addition, the Fluid Technology business unit is involved with lines and hoses for air conditioning, transmission oil, cooling water and charge air. This means driving comfort and sporty driving are no contradiction.
