Hanover/Shanghai, March 2011ContiTech's production in Changshu successfully supplied the Chinese market for the first year
ContiTech Air Spring Systems, a business unit of the German ContiTech AG, is the world market leader in air spring systems. ContiTech will participate in the 11th Bus World Asia in Shanghai from March 30 – April 1, 2011 (booth S25). ContiTech Air Spring Systems will present the latest technology in the air spring sector at the trade show.
Air spring and air spring systems from ContiTech can be configured in various types, construction designs and sizes. Depending on the application, the springs can be adapted to the specific requirements of customers in order to achieve optimum suspension characteristics. “The Bus World is an innovative platform and the most important event for the Asian bus industry. Here, trend-setters come together to discuss political and technical topics and to compare products” explains Dieter Gramsch, general manager of the ContiTech air springs plant in Changshu.
ContiTech has been active in China for more than 30 years and is a development and product partner for air spring systems for city, hybrid and coach buses in the Chinese and Asian markets. The company is displaying air springs and air spring systems for bus axles, seat suspension and cabin suspensions for other commercial vehicles.
In March 2010 the company opened up a new production location in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, from which the company successfully supplied the Chinese market during the past year. This localization was a milestone for the company and is an important step to maintain the company’s market leadership in the Chinese bus market.
The 11th Bus World Asia is held in the Shanghai International Automobile City and will attract specialists from around the world. Special focus will be on buses powered by electricity. This environmental focus is in line with the Chinese emphasis on eco-friendly solutions which could already be witnessed at the show in 2010 and during the Shanghai Expo.
