Technology for Tomorrow’s Needs

From April 19 to 23, 2010, the HANNOVER MESSE is the hot spot of the industry.

The needs of the next generation are the focus of ContiTech AG's showing at the Hannover Messe 2010 (booth A16, hall 5). Under the theme "Meeting tomorrow's needs", the specialist for rubber and plastics technology will be demonstrating how materials, a spirit of development and the power of innovation can be used. The company wishes to provide answers to the urgent questions on the future direction of humanity as regards the issues of nutrition, clean water, the reliable transportation of energy and ecological product alternatives.

ContiTech is presenting the CONTI-V® Pioneer V-belt, winner of the special prize from the Association for Innovation in German Industry (IDWI) at the “Alternative Drive Technology 2010” Future Prizes ceremony. The focus will be on the wide variety of possible applications and the potential of this first wrapped V-belt, which is made primarily from renewable raw materials, contains no pollutants, and is just as efficient as conventional belts.

Furthermore, the company is demonstrating how its hoses and hose lines contribute to the creation and guarantee of supplies for people worldwide and reduce the environmental impact. ContiTech is active in the food and beverage industry, in supplying people with clean water, in irrigation systems and agricultural machinery and in the reliable pumping and transfer of raw materials.

With the second generation of hose lines for the SCR exhaust gas purification technology, ContiTech is making a considerable contribution to realizing future-compatible engine generations. Here, the know-how from the automotive sector is transfered specifically to the engines in other vehicles. When used in agricultural machines for instance, the system ensures that production of foodstuffs is more environmentally-responsible and less damaging to the atmosphere.

At the special lightweight construction show in hall 6, ContiTech is presenting product developments which have made full use of the special materials expertise and development skills of the engineers who built them. This will be the first presentation of a plastic transmission crossbeam and a transmission oil cooler line which are 50 percent lighter than conventional products.
