Training Sessions Impart Belt Know-How
Power Transmission Group
March 2010Competent service for garage customers: The training offered by ContiTech gives automotive mechanics an opportunity to deepen their drive belt expertise.
In the hours-long technical training session, experts share what they know about automotive control belts. In the day-long hands-on technical training offering, participants apply the theoretical knowledge they have acquired and practice changing timing belts on various engines.
ContiTech’s technical training offering is available throughout Europe. In the session, which is free of charge, experts pass on drive belt know-how. The participants learn how to handle timing belts correctly. They become acquainted with the properties of timing belt drives and the causes of belt damage. They also deal with special topics such as timing belt profiles and materials and the use of belt tension gauges. Up to 25 people can take part in a technical training session.
In the hands-on technical training, the participants each practice changing timing belts on five different engines. The special tools in the CONTI® TOOL BOX and the CONTI® BTT Hz belt tension tester are also used. The trainer also imparts technical information about timing belts. Groups of up to twelve persons can take part in ContiTech’s one-day hands-on technical training sessions, for which a fee is charged. The number of participants is restricted to ensure that each participant has a chance to practice changing belts on all the engines.
ContiTech organizes both training programs in cooperation with dealerships. Garages can sign up for the courses at their dealers.
