The upswing makes itself felt

2010 was a good year for ContiTech, which again posted a double-digit EBIT before restructuring, and €369.6 million (PY: €169.4 million) after restructuring. In comparison to the difficult prior year, in 2010 ContiTech was again able to replicate the good sales figures from 2007 and 2008.

Sales exceeded €3 billion (PY: €2.4 billion). The positive sales development is based primarily on the rapid recovery of the international automotive industry. The share of sales in the automotive industry was therefore somewhat higher in 2010 than in the previous years at around 54% (PY: 50%).

ContiTech invested €100 million (PY: €83 million), with a capital expenditure ratio of 3.2%, nearly on par with 2009 (3.7%).

The number of employees rose by about 3,500 from 22,079 in 2009 to 25,833.
